Florida Owner of the Year

The CMAA Distinguished Owner Award recognizes an owner member who understands the value of a professional Construction Manager (CM) on the job and whose consistent actions, with a demonstrated record over a number of years, have made meaningful/extraordinary contributions to the advancement of the construction management profession, such as mentoring, advocating, promoting, and selecting professional CMs. 

Eligibility

  • Individuals who have received this award in the past are not eligible.

  • Recipients may not be a serving member of the Association’s Board of Directors or Board of Governors

Florida Distinguished Young Professional Award

The CMAA Distinguished Young Professional Award recognizes and celebrates a full-time professional for outstanding professional’s accomplishments and a commitment to the CM industry early in his/her career.

Eligibility

  • Nominees must be under the age of 35, an early career professional, and a CMAA member in good standing.

  • Individuals who have received this award in the past are not eligible.

  • Recipients may not be a serving member of the Association’s Board of Directors or Board of Governors.

 

COLLEGIATE HONOrS

The CMAA Collegiate Honors Award recognizes and celebrates outstanding students in the field of construction management poised to become future industry leaders as demonstrated through their academic excellence, leadership skills, and commitment to the construction industry revidenced by their extracurricular activities, internships, and/or work experience.

Eligibility

  • Nominees must be an active student at a Florida post-secondary school pursuting a construction management or related engineering/architecture degree.

  • Individuals who have received this award in the past are not eligible.

  • Recipients may not be a serving member of the Association’s Board of Directors or Board of Governors.

Florida Construction Industry contributor award

The Contributor Award is given annually to industry leaders who have made significant contributions on behalf of the construction management industry. This industry advocate possesses unparalleled leadership, high quality workmanship, and has an outstanding record of accomplishment.

Eligibility

  • Individuals who have received this award in the past are not eligible.

  • Recipients may not be a serving member of the Association’s Board of Directors or Board of Governors.

Criteria

Nominations should include:

  • A succinct overview of how the nominee has committed his/her career to learning the profession of construction management.

  • Detailed examples of how this nominee has helped educate others on the importance of a professional construction manager (e.g., returned to their university to teach, talk, recruit).

  • Examples of the nominee's involvement with CMAA and carrying out of CMAA's mission.

  • Previous awards or recognitions.

  • A letter of support from nominee's supervisor.

  • Is this nominee a CMIT or CCM

Nominations Process

Individuals cannot nominate themselves, but can be nominated by any CMAA member, chapter, or committee. A written nomination must include a full bio of the person being nominated and specific reasons for the nomination.
